This website supports teachers and learners to incorporate sustainability and global citizenship across the school curriculum in Aotearoa New Zealand. Within the concepts of tūrangawaewae (understanding where I stand), kaitiakitanga (caring for people and place), and whakapuāwai (flourishing ever forward), six pathways helps them to develop learning opportunities that are place-based, inquiry-led, and focused on participation for change.
Teachers can click on ideas for inquiry questions, activities to discover more about the topic and interpret findings, get suggestions for how their learners can take action, see ways to reflect on what they have learned, and select other related resources/websites. These are saved into a pātaka (a storehouse) so that teachers can access all the information quickly and easily in one place.
The development of the site followed the principles of human-centred design. Consequently, it’s highly engaging, easily accessible, and visually stunning. It’s been extremely well-received by the client as well as the experts and teachers involved in its development.
